Chapter Study & Analysis

Matthew 28 concludes the Gospel with the Resurrection of Jesus, His appearance to the women and disciples, and the commission to go and make disciples of all nations, backed by His promise of eternal presence.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. Fear Not, He Is Risen: The angelic message (v. 5-6) is the foundation of Christian hope. Because He lives, the power of death is broken, and we no longer need to live in fear.
2. The Authority of Christ: All power in heaven and earth has been given to Him (v. 18). Our mission is not based on our own strength but on the absolute sovereignty of our Risen Lord.
3. The Great Commission: We are commanded to "go and teach" (v. 19). This is not a suggestion but a mandate to share the Gospel and the teachings of Christ with the entire world.

FORMAL PRAYER

O Risen Lord, who hast led captivity captive and conquered the grave: we rejoice in Thy victory. Empower us by Thy Spirit to fulfill Thy Great Commission, baptizing and teaching in Thy name. We thank Thee for the promise that Thou art with us alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
