Chapter Study & Analysis

Ezekiel 45 - Portions and Holy Feasts: Land is set apart for the sanctuary, the priests, and the prince. Instructions are given for just weights and measures, and the observance of the Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles.

THEOLOGICAL CONTEXT

1. Economic Justice: "Let it suffice you, O princes... execute judgment and justice" (v. 9). God’s kingdom includes honest commerce.
2. The Prince’s Portion: The ruler has his own land so that he no longer oppresses the people (v. 8).
3. The Cycle of Atonement: The feasts remind the people of their history and their constant need for God's covering.

PRACTICAL LESSONS

1. Righteousness in Business: Faith is not just for the Temple; it applies to "just balances" and how we treat others financially.
2. Preventing Oppression: A godly system provides for its leaders so they are not tempted to exploit the people.
