Chapter Study & Analysis

Ezekiel 11 - The Promise of Renewal: Ezekiel prophesies against the corrupt leaders in Jerusalem. The Glory of God finally leaves the city, but God promises to be a "little sanctuary" for the exiles and give them a "new spirit."

THEOLOGICAL CONTEXT

1. The Little Sanctuary (v. 16): God remains the sanctuary of His people even without a physical temple.
2. The New Heart: "I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh" (v. 19). Regeneration is a sovereign act of God.
3. Departure to the East: The Glory stands on the mount east of the city (Mount of Olives), the same location from which Jesus would later ascend.

PRACTICAL LESSONS

1. God is not Bound by Geography: His presence is available to the faithful even in "strange lands."
2. Internal Transformation: Only a heart softened by God can truly walk in His statutes.
