Chapter Study & Analysis
Overview
2 Chronicles 9 recounts the Queen of Sheba’s visit and the immense wealth of Solomon. It ends with the death of Solomon after a forty-year reign, passing the kingdom to his son Rehoboam.
CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS
1. Wisdom that Draws Others: The Queen came to "prove Solomon with hard questions" (v. 1). When we have God’s wisdom, the world will come seeking answers to life’s toughest problems.
2. More than Rumor: She found that "the half was not told" her (v. 6). God’s reality is always more magnificent than any report we hear about Him.
3. The Finality of Life: Even the wisest and wealthiest king eventually "slept with his fathers." We must use our time wisely, for only what is done for God’s glory remains.
