Chapter Study & Analysis

2 Chronicles 30 describes Hezekiah’s great Passover. He invites both Judah and the remnant of Israel. Despite some mocking, many humble themselves and travel to Jerusalem for a feast of unprecedented joy.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. A Call to Unity: Hezekiah reached out to the northern tribes, showing that God’s grace is for all who repent (v. 1-6). We should always keep the door open for those who wish to return to the Lord.
2. Grace over Ritualism: Many were not ceremonially clean, but Hezekiah prayed for them, and God healed the people (v. 18-20). God values a seeking heart more than perfect ritual performance.
3. Yielding to God: The message was "yield yourselves unto the Lord" (v. 8). Spiritual victory begins with total surrender to His authority.

FORMAL PRAYER

O Lord God of our fathers, heal every heart that prepares itself to seek Thee, even if we fall short of perfect holiness. May Thy grace abound toward us. Amen.
