Chapter Study & Analysis

2 Chronicles 3 describes the actual construction of the Temple on Mount Moriah. It details the dimensions, the gold overlay, the cherubim, and the two great pillars, Jachin and Boaz.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. A Sacred Foundation: The Temple was built on Mount Moriah, where Abraham offered Isaac (v. 1). Our service to God should be built on the foundations of faith and sacrifice.
2. The Quality of Worship: Solomon used "parvaim gold" and precious stones (v. 6). We should offer God our very best, not our leftovers, in every area of our lives.
3. Symbols of Stability: The pillars Jachin (He will establish) and Boaz (In Him is strength) remind us that our spiritual life depends entirely on God’s sustaining power.

FORMAL PRAYER

Heavenly Father, help us to build our lives on the foundation of Thy truth. May our worship be pure and may we stand firm like the pillars of Thy house, established in Thy strength. Amen.
