Chapter Study & Analysis

2 Chronicles 5 details the induction of the Ark into the Temple. When the priests and singers praised God in unity, the glory of the Lord filled the house in a thick cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. The Power of Unity: The glory fell when the trumpeters and singers were "as one" (v. 13). God’s presence manifests where there is spiritual harmony and shared purpose.
2. Praise Precedes the Presence: The cloud appeared as they thanked God for His goodness and mercy. Gratitude is the key that opens the door to God’s manifest glory.
3. God’s Overwhelming Glory: When God moves, human activity often has to stop. We must be willing to step aside and let the Holy Spirit take the lead.

FORMAL PRAYER

O Lord, for Thou art good; for Thy mercy endureth for ever. Fill our lives and our assemblies with Thy glory, that all may know Thou art God in our midst. Amen.
