Chapter Study & Analysis

Moses gathers the congregation to witness the consecration of the priesthood. He washes them with water, puts on the holy garments, and anoints the tabernacle and Aaron with oil. The "ram of consecration" is slain, and blood is applied to their right ears, thumbs, and great toes.
1. Washed by the Word: Before they could serve, the priests had to be washed, symbolizing the need for spiritual cleansing through God’s Word.
2. Anointed for Power: The oil represents the Holy Spirit; service to God cannot be done by human strength alone but by divine enabling.
3. Sanctified in Every Part: Blood on the ear, hand, and foot signifies that the priest’s thoughts, works, and walk must be entirely dedicated to God.
