Overview
This chapter covers the trespass (guilt) offering for specific sins, such as withholding testimony, touching uncleanness, or swearing rashly. It also deals with sins against the "holy things" of the LORD, requiring restitution plus a fifth part (20%) added to it.
Practical Lessons
1. Restitution is Required: True repentance involves more than an apology; it requires making right the wrongs we have done to God and others.
2. Honesty in Speech: God holds us accountable for our words and oaths, teaching the importance of integrity in our speech.
3. God’s Mercy for the Poor: God provided a sliding scale (lamb, pigeons, or flour) so that even the poorest person could find atonement.
