Chapter Study & Analysis

When a leper is healed, a complex ritual involving two birds, cedar wood, scarlet, and hyssop is performed. Blood and oil are applied to the person, symbolizing restoration to the camp and to God.
1. Restoration by Grace: The leper could not heal himself; he had to be pronounced clean. Similarly, our "cleansing" from sin is a work of God’s grace.
2. The Power of the Blood and Oil: The combination of blood (atonement) and oil (Holy Spirit) is necessary for a full restoration to service.
3. New Beginnings: God provides a path back for the outcast, showing His desire for reconciliation and the restoration of the broken.
