Chapter Study & Analysis

The final chapter deals with voluntary vows made to the LORD regarding persons, animals, houses, and lands. It also establishes that the "tithe of the land" is holy unto the LORD and cannot be redeemed without a penalty.
1. The Solemnity of Vows: When we make a promise to God, He expects us to keep it. It is better not to vow than to vow and not pay.
2. The Tithe is Holy: Ten percent of our increase belongs to God by right; it is "holy unto the LORD," teaching us to put Him first in our finances.
3. God’s Orderly House: The detailed valuations for vows show that God is a God of order and expects us to be clear and honest in our spiritual commitments.
