Chapter Study & Analysis

Detailed instructions are given to the priests to diagnose leprosy in skin, hair, and garments. A person pronounced unclean must dwell alone and cry, "Unclean, unclean."
1. Sin as a Disease: In the Bible, leprosy is often a type of sin—it starts small, spreads, numbs the senses, and ultimately separates us from God and community.
2. The Role of the Priest: The priest’s job was to discern and protect the community, just as spiritual leaders today must guard the church from the spread of sin.
3. Separation: The isolation of the leper reminds us of the serious nature of spiritual uncleanness before a Holy God.
