Chapter Study & Analysis

God provides instructions for sins committed through ignorance. Whether it is the anointed priest, the whole congregation, a ruler, or a common person, a specific sacrifice is required. The blood is put upon the horns of the altar, and the sin is forgiven.
1. The Weight of Unseen Sin: Ignorance is no excuse for sin in God’s sight; even the sins we don’t realize we commit require atonement.
2. Accountability by Leadership: The higher the position of the person, the more costly the sacrifice required, showing that leaders have a greater responsibility.
3. Confession and Forgiveness: The process of laying hands on the animal’s head symbolizes the transfer of guilt from the sinner to the substitute.
