Overview
Jeremiah 32 - The Field of Anathoth: While imprisoned and during the siege of Jerusalem, Jeremiah buys a field from his cousin. This acted prophecy demonstrates his absolute certainty that "houses and fields shall be possessed again in this land."
THEOLOGICAL CONTEXT
1. The Logic of Faith: Buying real estate in a city about to be destroyed is the ultimate act of trust in God's promise of return.
2. Nothing is too Hard (v. 17): "Ah Lord God!... there is nothing too hard for thee." This confession is born out of a desperate situation.
3. The Everlasting Covenant: God promises to give them "one heart, and one way," and that He will "not turn away from them, to do them good."
