Chapter Study & Analysis

Moses exhorts Israel to keep the statutes and judgments. He reminds them of the unique experience at Sinai—hearing God’s voice from the fire. He warns against idolatry and establishes three cities of refuge east of Jordan.
1. The Sufficiency of Scripture: We are commanded not to add to or diminish from God’s Word.
2. The Privilege of Prayer: Moses asks, "What nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them?" Our access to God is our greatest asset.
3. Passing the Torch: We have a solemn duty to teach God’s wonders to our children and grandchildren.
