Chapter Study & Analysis

The defeat of Og, king of Bashan, is recorded. The land east of Jordan is distributed to Reuben, Gad, and half-Manasseh. Moses pleads with God to let him cross the Jordan, but God refuses, allowing him only to view the land from Mount Pisgah.
1. No Giant is Too Big: Og was a giant with a massive iron bed, but he was no match for God’s power.
2. Accepting God’s "No": Even the most faithful servants face limits. Moses had to accept God’s discipline with grace.
3. Encouraging the Next Leader: God tells Moses to "charge Joshua, and encourage him," showing the importance of mentorship.
