Deuteronomy 10 Study & Commentary
After the Golden Calf incident, God commands Moses to hew two new tables of stone. Moses describes God’s requirements: to fear Him, walk in His ways, love Him, and serve Him. He calls for the "circumcision of the heart."
1. God of Second Chances: The new tablets show that God is willing to restore His law to a repentant people.
2. Internal Religion: Physical rituals mean nothing without a heart that is set apart (circumcised) for God.
3. Justice for the Outcast: God loves the stranger and the fatherless; as His people, we must do the same.
