Chapter Study & Analysis

Moses continues the history, noting how God commanded them to respect the territories of Edom, Moab, and Ammon. He then describes the defeat of Sihon, king of the Amorites, as God began to put the dread of Israel upon the nations.
1. Respecting Divine Boundaries: God determines the inheritance of all nations; we must respect what He has given to others.
2. The End of a Generation: Moses notes the passing of the old generation, showing that God’s word concerning judgment is always fulfilled.
3. God Initiates the Battle: Success comes when we move at God’s command, not our own impulse.
