Chapter Study & Analysis

Romans 10 contrasts the righteousness of the Law with the righteousness of faith. Paul emphasizes that Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness and outlines the simplicity of the Gospel: that whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. The Heart and the Mouth: Salvation involves both believing with the heart and confessing with the mouth (v. 9-10). True faith is an internal conviction that results in a public commitment to Jesus as Lord.
2. The Necessity of Preaching: How shall they hear without a preacher? (v. 14). We have a shared responsibility to support and engage in the verbal proclamation of the Gospel to all people.
3. The Accessibility of Grace: The Word is nigh thee (v. 8). We do not need to perform impossible feats to find God; He has come near to us in Christ, and His salvation is available to everyone who believes.

FORMAL PRAYER

Lord Jesus, who art the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone that believeth: we confess Thee as our Lord and Savior. Grant us beautiful feet to carry Thy Gospel to others, that many may hear, believe, and be saved through Thy Name. Amen.
