Chapter Study & Analysis

Revelation 7 provides a pause between the sixth and seventh seals. John sees the sealing of 144,000 from the tribes of Israel and a "great multitude which no man could number" from all nations, standing before the throne, washed in the blood of the Lamb.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. The Seal of Protection: Before the final judgments fall, God ensures His servants are sealed (v. 3). We are preserved by His power through the tribulations of this world.
2. A Global Harvest: God’s kingdom is truly international, including people from every "kindred, and tongue, and nation" (v. 9). This should fuel our missionary heart and our love for the global body of Christ.
3. The Comfort of God: In the midst of suffering, we have the promise that God shall "wipe away all tears from their eyes" (v. 17). Our current sorrows are temporary; His comfort is eternal.

FORMAL PRAYER

Almighty God, we thank Thee for the great multitude redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. Seal us with Thy Holy Spirit and lead us unto living fountains of waters, where Thou shalt wipe away every tear. Amen.
