Chapter Study & Analysis

Revelation 11 introduces the two witnesses who prophesy with power before being killed and resurrected. The seventh trumpet sounds, announcing that "the kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ."

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. The Power of Witness: God always maintains a testimony on earth, even in the darkest times (v. 3). We are called to be faithful witnesses, empowered by His Spirit to speak His truth regardless of the cost.
2. The World’s Enmity: The world rejoices when the voice of truth is silenced (v. 10). We should not be surprised by the hostility of the world toward the message of the Gospel.
3. The Final Triumph: The kingdoms of this world are temporary; Christ’s kingdom is eternal (v. 15). This is the "sum" of our hope: that righteousness will ultimately prevail and God will reign for ever and ever.

FORMAL PRAYER

We give Thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, because Thou hast taken to Thee Thy great power, and hast reigned. Grant that we may be faithful witnesses unto the end, looking for the day when Thy Kingdom shall be fully manifest. Amen.
