Revelation 12 Study & Commentary
Revelation 12 reveals the cosmic war between the Woman (Israel/The Church) and the Great Red Dragon (Satan). It describes the Dragon’s failed attempt to destroy the Child (Christ) and his subsequent war against the "remnant of her seed."
CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS
1. Overcoming by the Blood: We overcome the accuser "by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony" (v. 11). Our victory is rooted in Christ’s finished work, not our own strength.2. The Dragon’s Wrath: The devil has "great wrath" because he knows his time is short (v. 12). We should expect spiritual opposition but remain confident in the Dragon’s ultimate defeat.
3. Divine Preservation: God provides a "place prepared" for His people in the wilderness (v. 6). Even in intense persecution, God’s providential care sustains His faithful remnant.
