Chapter Study & Analysis
Overview
Revelation 19 celebrates the Marriage Supper of the Lamb and the glorious return of Jesus Christ as King of kings. He appears on a white horse to judge and make war in righteousness, defeating the Beast and the False Prophet.
CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS
1. The Marriage of the Lamb: The Church is called to be a bride "made ready," clothed in fine linen (v. 7-8). This preparation is a lifelong process of sanctification and faithfulness.
2. The Name of Jesus: He is called "Faithful and True" and "The Word of God" (v. 11-13). Our confidence rests in His character and the power of His revealed Word.
3. Certain Victory: The battle is decided before it begins; the enemies are cast into the lake of fire (v. 20). We should not live in fear of the world’s powers, but in the certainty of Christ’s triumph.
