Chapter Study & Analysis

The Nazarite vow is established for those who separate themselves unto the LORD (no wine, no haircut, no contact with the dead). The chapter concludes with the famous Aaronic blessing: "The LORD bless thee, and keep thee..."
1. Voluntary Consecration: While all were holy, the Nazarite chose an extra level of separation, showing that we can seek a deeper intimacy with God.
2. The Power of the Hair: The long hair was a visible sign of subjection to God’s will.
3. The Grace of God’s Name: By pronouncing the blessing, the priests "put God’s name" upon the people, ensuring His favor and peace.
