Overview
Balaam sees Israel abiding in their tents and the Spirit of God comes upon him. He prophesies their future glory and utters the famous messianic prediction: "There shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel." Balak sends him away in anger.
Practical Lessons
1. Messianic Hope: Even a corrupt prophet was used to announce the coming of King Jesus (the Star and Sceptre).
2. The Beauty of Order: The sight of Israel organized in their tents according to God’s plan was a testimony to the enemy.
3. God’s Purpose Prevails: Despite Balak’s bribes and Balaam’s greed, God’s blessing remained firmly on His people.
