Numbers 12 Study & Commentary

Miriam and Aaron speak against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman he married, questioning his unique authority. God vindicates Moses, declaring him faithful in all His house. Miriam is smitten with leprosy and cast out of the camp for seven days after Moses intercedes for her.
1. God Vindicates His Servants: We don’t need to defend our reputation when we are walking with God; He will speak for us.
2. The Sin of Envy: Spiritual pride and jealousy among leaders can halt the progress of the entire congregation.
3. The Meekness of Moses: Moses’ refusal to retaliate is the hallmark of true spiritual authority.
