Chapter Study & Analysis

Balak, king of Moab, fears Israel and sends for the prophet Balaam to curse them. God forbids Balaam, but he goes for reward. On the way, the Angel of the LORD stands in the path. Balaam’s ass sees the Angel and speaks, rebuking the prophet’s madness.
1. God Restrains the Enemy: No one can curse what God has blessed.
2. The Error of Balaam: Seeking financial gain through spiritual ministry is a dangerous path that leads to spiritual blindness.
3. Sovereignty over Creation: God can use even a dumb ass to speak His truth and humble the pride of man.
