Chapter Study & Analysis

Korah, Dathan, and Abiram lead a rebellion of 250 princes against Moses and Aaron. Moses calls for a divine test. The earth opens and swallows the rebels, and fire consumes the 250 men. When the people murmur the next day, a plague begins, stopped only when Aaron runs into the midst with incense.
1. God Chooses His Leaders: Rebellion against God’s appointed authority is rebellion against God Himself.
2. The Danger of Ambition: Korah was already a Levite but wanted the priesthood; discontent with our God-given role leads to ruin.
3. Atonement in the Midst of Death: Aaron standing between the dead and the living is a vivid picture of Christ’s intercession for us.
