Chapter Study & Analysis

John 14 provides the supreme comfort of Christ to His troubled disciples. It reveals the way to the Father, the promise of the *Paraclete* (Holy Spirit), and the gift of a peace that transcends worldly understanding.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. The Only Way: In a pluralistic age, Jesus’ claim—"I am the way, the truth, and the life" (v. 6)—is the anchor of Christian exclusivity. Truth is not an idea; it is a Person.
2. The Indwelling Spirit: The promise of the Spirit "dwelling with you and in you" (v. 17) is the foundation for the believer’s strength. We are never orphaned; we have an internal Counselor for every trial.
3. Supernatural Peace: The peace Christ gives (v. 27) is not the absence of trouble, but a quietness of heart in the midst of it. It is a legacy left to us that the world can neither give nor take away.

FORMAL PRAYER

O Way, Truth, and Life: let not our hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. We thank Thee for the gift of the Comforter, who abides with us forever. Lead us into all truth, and grant us that peace which passeth all understanding, that we may rest securely in the Father’s house. Amen.
