John 14 provides the supreme comfort of Christ to His troubled disciples. It reveals the way to the Father, the promise of the *Paraclete* (Holy Spirit), and the gift of a peace that transcends worldly understanding.
CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS
1. The Only Way: In a pluralistic age, Jesus’ claim—"I am the way, the truth, and the life" (v. 6)—is the anchor of Christian exclusivity. Truth is not an idea; it is a Person.2. The Indwelling Spirit: The promise of the Spirit "dwelling with you and in you" (v. 17) is the foundation for the believer’s strength. We are never orphaned; we have an internal Counselor for every trial.
3. Supernatural Peace: The peace Christ gives (v. 27) is not the absence of trouble, but a quietness of heart in the midst of it. It is a legacy left to us that the world can neither give nor take away.
