Chapter Study & Analysis

Hebrews 10 argues that the Law was only a "shadow of good things to come." It exhorts believers to "draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith" and warns against the soul-destroying danger of drawing back into perdition.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. Boldness to Enter: We have "boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus" (v. 19). The veil is rent; every believer has direct, unhindered access to the Father.
2. Provoking to Love: We are commanded to "consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works" (v. 24). Christian fellowship is not a passive activity but an intentional stirring up of holiness in each other.
3. Not Forsaking the Assembly: We must not forsake the assembling of ourselves together (v. 25). The local church is God’s ordained environment for mutual encouragement as we see the Day of the Lord approaching.

FORMAL PRAYER

Almighty God, grant us to draw near to Thee with a true heart in full assurance of faith. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering, and help us to consider one another to provoke unto love and good works. Amen.
