Chapter Study & Analysis
Overview
1 Chronicles 28 records David’s final public address. He hands over the "pattern" (the architectural plans) of the Temple to Solomon, explaining that God gave him these instructions by "writing" upon him.
CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS
1. The Pattern of God: The Temple wasn't humanly designed; it followed a divine pattern (v. 19). Our lives and ministries should follow the pattern revealed in God’s Word, not our own whims.
2. A Perfect Heart and Willing Mind: David told Solomon that God searches all hearts (v. 9). God is more interested in our internal attitude than our external performance.
3. The Guarantee of Presence: "The Lord... will be with thee; he will not fail thee" (v. 20). When we are on God’s business, we have the guarantee of God’s company.
