Chapter Study & Analysis

1 Chronicles 16 contains David’s magnificent Psalm of Thanks delivered to Asaph. It calls the nations to seek the Lord, remember His wonders, and give Him the glory due to His name.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. The Duty of Gratitude: "Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name" (v. 8). Thanksgiving is the first step in entering God’s presence.
2. Remembering His Wonders: We sustain our faith by recounting what God has done in the past (v. 12). A forgetful heart is a fearful heart.
3. Universal Proclamation: "Declare his glory among the heathen" (v. 24). Our worship should not be private; it should be a testimony to the world that our God is King.

FORMAL PRAYER

Glory and honour are in Thy presence; strength and gladness are in Thy place. May our lives be a continuous psalm of praise to Thee, declaring Thy wonders to all people. Amen.
