Chapter Study & Analysis

1 Chronicles 11 describes all Israel gathering to anoint David at Hebron. It highlights the exploits of David’s mighty men, particularly the "Three" who showed extraordinary bravery and loyalty to their king.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. Unity Under God’s Anointed: When the people became "one heart," David’s kingdom was established (v. 1). Unity is the atmosphere in which God commands the blessing.
2. The Valor of the Few: The list of mighty men reminds us that God uses dedicated individuals to accomplish great victories. You don’t need a crowd to be "mighty" for the Lord.
3. Sacrificial Loyalty: David’s men risked their lives for a simple drink of water. We should ask ourselves if we have that same level of devotion to our King, Jesus Christ.

FORMAL PRAYER

Grant us, O Lord, a heart of loyalty and courage. Help us to be "mighty" in Thy service, standing firm in the battles of life and supporting the work of Thy kingdom with all our strength. Amen.
