Chapter Study & Analysis

1 Chronicles 22 describes David’s massive preparations for the Temple. He gathers stone, cedar, and iron, and charges Solomon to build the house, reminding him that God will give him the necessary wisdom.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. Preparing the Way for Others: David did the "groundwork" for a project he wouldn't see finished. We should be willing to plant seeds and gather resources for those who come after us.
2. Strength and Courage: David told Solomon to "be strong, and of good courage" (v. 13). Facing God’s work requires a heart that is not intimidated by the scale of the task.
3. Seeking the Lord with Heart and Soul: The purpose of the building was for the "name of the Lord." Our projects are only valuable if they lead people to God.

FORMAL PRAYER

Grant us, O Lord, the heart of a builder. Help us to prepare the way for future generations and to use our resources to create a legacy that honors Thy holy name. Amen.
