Chapter Study & Analysis

Ephesians 6 outlines the duties of children, parents, servants, and masters. It concludes with the famous description of the "Whole Armour of God," emphasizing that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but spiritual wickedness.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. Parental Responsibility: Fathers should bring up their children in the "nurture and admonition of the Lord" (v. 4). The home is the primary place for spiritual formation and discipleship.
2. Spiritual Preparedness: We must "put on the whole armour of God" to stand against the wiles of the devil (v. 11). Truth, righteousness, the Gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word are our daily defenses.
3. The Power of Prayer: We are to pray "always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit" (v. 18). Prayer is not an add-on; it is the vital breath of the spiritual soldier.

FORMAL PRAYER

Almighty God, grant us to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Help us to take up the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit, that we may stand bold in the evil day and finish our course with joy. Amen.
