Chapter Study & Analysis

Daniel 12 - The Time of the End: A prophecy of a time of trouble such as never was. It promises the resurrection of the dead (some to life, some to shame) and tells Daniel to seal the book until the time of the end.

THEOLOGICAL CONTEXT

1. The Great Tribulation: A period of unprecedented trouble for Israel and the world.
2. The Resurrection (v. 2): One of the clearest OT references to the bodily resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked.
3. The Increase of Knowledge: "Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased"—a sign of the terminal generation.

PRACTICAL LESSONS

1. Shining like Stars: Those who are wise and turn many to righteousness will shine forever.
2. Resting in the Promise: Daniel is told to "go thy way... for thou shalt rest," promising a faithful end for the believer.
